Hop To It
Hop Into The Wild
Get ready for a summer of wild adventures at the Buttermarket! We’re thrilled to announce our “Hop into the Wild” initiative, running for ten weeks from June 21st to August 29th. This exciting campaign runs in partnership with the St Elizabeth Hospice “Hop to It” trail, and as proud sponsors, you’ll find our beautifully decorated hare sculpture right here in the centre!
We’re hosting a series of FREE, family-friendly events throughout the summer, encouraging everyone to engage with the trail and enjoy some “wild” fun. All “Hop into the Wild” events will run from 11 am to 3 pm.

Bug-tastic Events
“What Bugs You” Workshop: Kicking off on Saturday, June 21st, children can become honorary “Bug Bodyguards” as our knowledgeable team guides them through the fascinating world of insects! Activities include crawling through a caterpillar tunnel, learning to fly like a butterfly, and so much more.
Bug & Creature Experience: On July 26th, get up close and personal with real-life bugs, including tarantulas, and learn fascinating facts about them.
Bug Olympics: The much-loved Butter-lympics returns on August 13th with a bug-themed twist! Expect fun and games for all the family.
Storytelling with Butterbear: Join the Buttermarket’s lovable mascot, Butterbear, for enchanting story time sessions featuring tales like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” on August 27th.
We encourage all visitors to participate in the St Elizabeth Hospice “Hop to It” trail by downloading the app and scanning the Buttermarket hare upon arrival. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the Buttermarket and support the vital work of St Elizabeth Hospice! Don’t miss out on the “Hop into the Wild” fun this summer

“It’s a privilege to be involved in this year’s ‘Hop To it’ art trai in Ipswich, in aid of St Elizabeth’s Hospice. Ten years ago, I got to experience the care and passion that all the staff give towards all their patients at the Hospice as it was here that my Mum spent her last hours of her life. It’s such an honour to have been selected to create a piece of art that will not only benefit the Hospice but also bring visitors to the town.”
